Medibank, Australia's largest private health insurer, wanted a film on inclusion and on employees' ability to speak up against racism at work. We were commissioned by We Are Unity, who wrote the script. The people on screen are real Medibank employees, not actors, speaking lines written for them. We shot the whole film in a studio in a single day.
How we produced it
Speaking on camera about racism is a lot to ask of someone who isn't an actor. Our approach is to be kind and sincere, and to make the set a place where people feel at ease. We talked each person through the project and gave them plenty of time and space. They were free to make mistakes and try again, and that is when the most natural takes come.
What we delivered
We delivered the finished workplace culture film to Medibank.
