NTT DATA Luweave — Brand Launch Animation and History Film, Tokyo
For Tokyo branding agency RISKYBRAND, we produced the brand launch animation for NTT DATA Luweave, the NTT DATA group company. It played on the giant digital screens at Tokyo Station and at other key locations around the city. We also made an animated film telling the company's history, scripted and voiced in both Japanese and English. It is bilingual corporate video production in Tokyo, from the station concourse to the company intranet.
The brand animation
The centrepiece was an animation made for the huge digital billboards at Tokyo Station and elsewhere in Tokyo. The same animation also opens and closes the company's videos, giving its films a shared signature.
The history film
NTT DATA Luweave began as Olivetti Corporation of Japan, the Japanese arm of the Italian typewriter maker, before becoming NTT DATA Getronics and then taking its current name. We turned that story into an animated film. The concept was a logo drawn on tactile, textured paper, weaving archival imagery into one clear narrative. We wrote the script and recorded voiceovers in Japanese and English. Director/DOP Andrew Goldie directed the animation, which was made with a freelance animator. We also have animation skills in-house.
Films like this work in both directions. We help Japanese companies tell their story to international audiences, and international companies speak to Japan, so the message lands in both languages.
What we delivered
We delivered the billboard animation and the animated history film, with Japanese and English voiceovers, for public screens, the company's website and social media.
