Mizuno sponsors Haruka Kitaguchi, the Japanese javelin thrower and Olympic gold medallist. Motus, the London agency behind many of Mizuno's international brand shoots, asked us to produce a sports brand film and photography with her in Tokyo. We shot both on the same production, with one crew.
How we shot it
The shoot had two parts. For the throwing, we scouted and secured a sports park in Tokyo with the space a javelin needs, and filmed her throwing there. For the second part we moved into a studio, where we designed and built the scene around her.
Our photographer worked alongside the film crew throughout, so the film and the stills came from the same set-ups and her time was used once, not twice. Our team ran the production and handled every conversation in English and Japanese.

A brand film for Mizuno and a set of photographs of Haruka Kitaguchi from the same shoot.
